April 22-23 - Sweetwater Living History Weekend

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to live in Florence in 1860? Have you ever secretly wished you could? That opportunity can be yours on April 22nd and 23rd from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the "Sweetwater Living History Weekend."

Admission to the event will be free both days. The celebration will feature such events as an hourly reading of Alabama's twentieth Governor Robert M. Patton's innaugural speech, a Maud Lindsay kindergarten re-enactment , Civil War campsites and many more living histories from the period.

Concessions will be available and different events will be planned for both days.

Sweetwater Mansion est 1828 is located at 842 Sweetwater Avenue, just off Florence Boulevard. Watch for signs on the day of the event or call 256-710-4432 for more information.

All events will be postponed in case of rain.
